Putting It Out There - Newel Hunter

Putting It Out There by Newel Hunter Painting 16.0 x 12.0 :: This abstract narrative features a life’s journey from fullness through difficulty to a place that questions what’s next. It’s about living through and surviving the challenges. And finally it’s about willing to put yourself out there to seek what’s next. This painting dominated by black and white tones creates a high-contrast visual experience. The piece features layered textures with thick expressive brushstrokes of white paint applied against a dark background. The white forms take on an organic almost fibrous quality with fine intricate patterns resembling lace or cracked surfaces. The central white area is more solid and bold punctuated by dramatic voids and negative spaces that add an element of visual intrigue and tension. The surrounding strokes are varied in density and direction giving the overall image a dynamic rhythmic movement while the interplay of light and shadow enhances the depth and mystery within the monochromatic palette. This painting harnesses the power of minimalism through the stark contrast of black and white to reinforce a sense of drama and intensity. The textures add a tactile richness that invites viewers to explore both the surface and underlying layers. The confident and fluid brushwork beathes life into an otherwise limited color scheme to evoke emotion and interest -- challenging viewers to focus on form texture and a story that resonates in some way with most all of us. Painted with acrylic on a 12 x 16 x 1/2 inch canvas with edges left to reflect its underlying journey. Carefully packaged and shipped in a cardboard box for maximum protection.
