We discovered this pendant in London. It is designed as an airy oval made from filigree gold rods. Beaded leaves are set between round-cut turquoises and surround a larger, oval turquoise in the middle of the piece of jewelry. Turquoise, imported at great expense from Persia, was a real fashionable stone as early as the middle of the 19th century. The people of that time loved it because of its similarity in color to the forget-me-not and saw the turquoise, like the flower, as a symbol of tender remembrance. The combination of turquoise and pearls in this piece of jewelry is typical of jewellery from the turn of the century. Jewelry made of yellow gold and studded all over with seed pearls enjoyed great popularity in Great Britain in the years around 1900. In the years shortly after 1900, individual colorful gemstones often perfected the color scheme, as here - we therefore also date this pendant to these years. We discovered this pendant in London. Fitted with a renewed anchor chain, it makes a perfect gift for a loved one.
