President Calvin Coolidge at the 1924 World Series panoramic photograph. Sweeping view of Griffith Stadium taken October 10, 1924 just prior to the start of Game (7) of the World Series. Players from both the Giants and Senators are shown standing shoulder to shoulder with the umpiring crew in between. Just behind them, front row in the crowd (dead center of the image), is President Calvin Coolidge flanked by Managers John J. McGraw of the Giants and Bucky Harris of the Senators. The Series had advanced to a seventh and deciding game and Washington would emerge victorious to claim their lone World Series title. It was a long awaited win for Walter Johnson who anchored the Senators pitching staff. He is one of (17) future baseball Hall of Famers shown with others including Hack Wilson, Goose Goslin, Sam Rice, Hugh Jennings, Frank Frisch, Travis Jackson, George Kelly, Fred Lindstrom, Billy Southworth, Bill Terry, Ross Youngs, umpires Bill Klem and Tom Connelly, and Commissioner K.M. Landis. The piece is framed to 16"x46.5" with image measuring approx. 9"x39.5". Displays beautifully with some minor damage to either end, one side being more notably effected with some small pieces of missing material. Captioned within along the lower edge and marked "Schultz" by the photographer/studio (mark partially missing): GD/VG with far superior eye appeal
