Jewellery in the 1990s had many faces, but one trend ran through the entire decade: the love of shiny surfaces made of gold and sparkling diamonds. As early as the late 1980s, jewellery pieces began to shine again in polished yellow gold. The often very lavish and large designs of the 1980s became smaller, finer and clearer again in the 1990s. Stones were mostly rubbed in or set in frames to achieve a smooth look. And most designs were based on a clear, simple geometry. This very high-quality ring in high-carat yellow and white gold speaks this language. At its centre, the ring presents a first-class brilliant-cut diamond of the Top Wesselton (G) colour grade with wonderful clarity (vvsi) weighing around 1.50 carats. The ring shoulders accompany the large centre stone with twelve smaller baguette-cut diamonds of equally good quality. According to the hallmark, the ring was made in Italy. We discovered it in Frankfurt am Main. It is in very good condition and can also be worn every day thanks to its pleasantly flat design.
