A greenish-black, cylindrical stone vessel carved in relief with an upper band of stylized glyphic/geometric decoration. The lower band contains two deity heads wearing disc ear ornaments and holding ceremonial implements. One deity is depicted with a large curled moustache and goatee. Maya, Honduras-El Salvador. 500-800 A.D. Condition: Traces of red pigment located in the interior base of the vessel. Intact, excellent condition. A rare and beautiful example Size: 7,50 cm. Provenance: M.F Private Collection, Madrid. Acquired at Arte Primitivo Gallery in 2007. Formerly Private Midwestern Collection ( USA ).
