Porcelain Guanyin Red and Blue Glaze Sculpture

Porcelain Guanyin Red and Blue Glaze Sculpture

Chinese porcelain figure of Guanyin, modeled seated in a meditative pose upon a tiered double-lotus pedestal. The bodhisattva is depicted with a serene expression, downcast eyes, elaborate crown and jewelry, and flowing robes highlighted in mottled underglaze blue and copper-red tones against a pale celadon-white glazed body. Guanyin holds a small amphora-form vase in both hands, with finely modeled fingers, beaded bracelets, necklace, earrings, and ornamental headdress. The figure is framed by pierced scrolling flame-form elements and rests upon a substantial lotus throne with alternating red and blue glazed petals and applied beaded borders. The underside is unglazed with a central aperture. Dimensions: 12"W x 19.5"H Weight: 20 lbs. Condition Request Condition Report Good
