All auctions / Contemporary Art / POPLEA - - COSMO BEAR XL— by POPLEA (2000)
Cosmo Bear stages an astronaut suspended from a heart-shaped balloon, accompanied by his/her bear: a simple, immediate image with a deeply symbolic core. The work evokes the aesthetics of urban stencil art popularized by Banksy, while being entirely hand-made, with no print or reproduction. The black-on-white contrast gives a strong, graphic presence; up close, the irregularities of the paint and the texture of the canvas reveal the gesture. A contemporary piece, poetic and highly legible, designed to create a focal point in an interior. Stylistic reference to contemporary urban art, with no connection or affiliation to Banksy. Signed on the back by "Popléa" and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The canvas is sold rolled, not mounted on a frame. The frame is not included and is only a presentation suggestion. The artist Popléa: If you own this artwork, you have in your hands an authentic piece signed by Popléa. But you should know: Popléa is a pseudonym. He or she has not yet revealed their identity — intentionally. This choice is part of a broader artistic project, a form of experiment: Create without a name, without status, without biography. The artwork alone. The image alone. What it evokes. What you feel. The artist behind Popléa is already exhibited, recognized, collected — but they wanted to explore another path, freer. Refuse filters, codes, discourses. Refuse that it’s always the same — galleries, experts, networks — who decide what has value. Perhaps what you own is the beginning of something. Or perhaps it is simply a work that speaks to you, here and now. Both options are beautiful. And deep down, perhaps that is the true luxury. The work is hand-signed, delivered ready to hang, in 4x4 packaging with insured shipping included. Happy bidding Recent buyer comments: "Very happy with my purchase! The piece received is magnificent, one can immediately feel the technical skill and the work involved. The packaging was especially meticulous" "Exceptional packing for a work that is just as exceptional! Thank you to the artist for this quality work."
