Ca. AD 17th century. Slightly curved single edged blade with one narrow fuller and pronounced yelmen, bears stamped marks at the forte. The hilt is of characteristic early hussar type, comprising a straight crossguard with langets, a knuckle bow, and a distinctive thumb-ring for enhanced grip control. The grip is covered in black leather over wood, secured by rivets, with almond shaped flat pommel. Length 80.1 cm. Size: 800mm x 120mm; Weight: 615g Provenance: From a private London collection; private German collection, 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
