Girl with a Pearl Earring is a wooden pixel artwork inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s iconic masterpiece. The portrait is composed of hundreds of individually crafted wooden blocks, each preserving its natural texture and subtle variations. From a distance, the familiar figure emerges; up close, the image dissolves into an abstract composition of deep blues, warm earth tones, and geometric forms. By translating one of art history’s most recognizable portraits into a sculptural pixel language, the work creates a dialogue between classical painting and contemporary abstraction, exploring the relationship between colour, texture, light, and perception. About the Artist Nadia Eremina is a Netherlands-based artist working under the name Pix-n-Art. She creates sculptural wooden pixel artworks composed of hundreds of individually prepared, hand-painted and assembled wooden blocks. Her practice combines the visual language of digital pixel art with the warmth and physical presence of natural wood. Inspired by iconic imagery, contemporary culture and themes of identity and perception, she transforms familiar images into tactile, three-dimensional compositions. Her artworks are presented through Carré d’Artistes galleries in France and Denmark and are held in private collections internationally. Each piece is handmade and unique.
