PINK MORRO - Atlas Drops

ATLAS DROPS is a painting about the energy of gesture. A navy blue background, worked with spray and with lighter and darker areas, surrounds a central rounded mass in pink, peach, violet, and green. Across it cross broad strokes of impasto gray, red and white splatters, and paint suspended across the surface. The title combines two ideas. “Atlas” refers to the Titan who holds the world, and here it is seen in that rounded, heavy form occupying the center, like a planet or a globe. “Drops” are the droplets that surround it, in the form of drips, splashes, and points that seem to fall or float at the same time. The work combines layers of acrylic, spray paint, graphite, and wax oils. The gray brushstrokes are thick and highly textured, contrasting with the spray veils of the background. The lines cross in all directions, with a steady rhythm, and the eye travels across the canvas without settling on a single point. Throughout her career she has developed artistic and creative collaborations with brands such as Adidas, Nike, Desigual, Siemens, Tous, Kappa, Absolut, Pompeii, and Jovi. Her work has been shown in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Milan, Copenhagen, London, and Mexico City, and she is currently part of private collections in Europe and the United States.
