Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (UK) - ''File...

A highly collectible early UK mono pressing of Pink Floyd's legendary debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, issued on Columbia under catalogue number SX 6157. This copy comes in the later "File Under POPULAR : Pop Groups" sleeve variation, which appears at the top of the rear flipback. This wording distinguishes it from the earliest sleeve variation, which does not carry the "File Under Popular" text. The original UK mono edition is especially desirable among Pink Floyd collectors, and this example also retains its original inner sleeve, which is increasingly difficult to find together with the record. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original laminated flipback sleeve shows some corner wear and age-related browning to the reverse. The "File Under Popular" text is clearly present on the rear. Despite these signs of age, it remains solid and presentable overall, grading VG+. Inner Sleeve: Original UK inner sleeve included. Vinyl (VG+): The record has seen a fair amount of play and shows numerous visible surface marks and hairlines across both sides. Most of these are superficial rather than deep. Visually the record grades VG, but importantly it plays very well, delivering a very enjoyable listening experience despite the visible wear. Audio grades VG+. ⸻ Details * UK mono pressing, 2nd pressing * Columbia SX 6157 * "File Under POPULAR : Pop Groups" sleeve variation * Original inner sleeve included * Flipback sleeve
