Keith Broomfield (British, 20th century) technical illustration of a Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX on paper, depicting aircraft registration MH434 with squadron codes AC-S and D-Day invasion stripes. This limited edition color print was produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The print is hand-signed in pencil by nine notable World War II RAF pilots and aces: Alan Deere, Jeffrey Quill, Alex Henshaw, Geoffrey Page, Christopher Foxley-Norris, Bob Stanford-Tuck, John Cunningham, Johnnie Johnson, and Brian Kingcome. Housed in a dark metal frame behind glass. The verso features an adhesive white certificate of authenticity signed by Geoffrey Page stating this is a print in a limited edition individually signed to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, with a handwritten note reading Died 8/3/2000. Also affixed to the backing is a typed document titled IN MEMORY OF THE FEW providing short biographies of the signatories. Sight size: 27"W x 15.75"H. Dimensions: 27.75"W x 16.25"H Weight: 5.75 lbs.
