Pier Paolo Pasolini - Prima edizione di Scritti corsari + Petrolio - 1975-1992

Scritti corsari – The most discussed interventions of a provocative witness – Milan, Garzanti, first edition: May 1975. in 8vo format, 13, 50 x 21 cm., paperback (cover by Fulvio Bianconi), 307 (4) pages, paperback with very light signs of use, top edge yellowed, excellent condition. “I have behind me no authority whatsoever: except for the one that paradoxically comes from not having it or from not having wanted it; from putting myself in a condition of having nothing to lose, and therefore not being faithful to any pact except the one with a reader whom I moreover consider worthy of every most scandalous search.” Scritti corsari is more than a collection of articles, interviews, reviews; as stated in the introductory note, it is rather a book that the reader must reconstruct. “It is he who must put together the fragments of a dispersed and incomplete work; it is he who must reunite the distant passages that nevertheless fit together.” Thus this book of writings born of the occasion has a singular unity, also because in the threads that compose it the fabric always clearly reveals “the sullen art or craft” of the author… (from the back cover) + Petrolio – Turin, Einaudi, first edition, third reprint 1992. in 8vo format, 14.50 x 22.50 cm., cloth hardcover with dust jacket, 591 (10) pages, excellent. “I have started a book that will engage me for years, perhaps for the rest of my life. I do not want to talk about it, however: suffice to know that it is a kind of “summa” of all my experiences, of all my memories.” Pier Paolo Pasolini, January 10, 1975 (from the back cover) Careful packing, fast and trackable shipping.
