Arnold Eagle (American/Hungarian, 1909-1992), "The Weekly Bath, From the Federal Art Project 'One Third of a Nation' Series, New York," 1936, gelatin silver print, ink signed and dated lower right to mat, pencil signed, titled, and dated verso, sheet: 11"h x 13.75"w, overall (with mat): 15"h x 20"w. Provenance: From the collection of Dennis Roberts, a prominent civil rights attorney. Beginning in the early 1960s, Roberts worked alongside legendary Georgia attorney C.B. King. He later served on the defense teams of the Chicago 8 in 1968 and Angela Davis from 1970-1972. Based in Oakland, Roberts was a witness to and participant in the defining legal battles of his generation.
