Tied for finest certified with one other example on either the NGC or PCGS population reports. Obverse: Stylized rendition of Jesus rowing in storm, artist name "GRECO" on bow; Reverse: Papacy emblems surrounded by legend in three lines "PAVLUS VI P.M. EPISCOPOS CONVENTVRVS INSVLAS/ CHRITVM VERITATIS PHILIPPINAS ET AVSTRALASAM AD/ PACISQVE MAGISTRVM NVNTIANDVM PETIT. A. MCMIXX"; hallmark in lower left quadrant near edge, stamped "900". Beautifully preserved and attractive, this ultra high relief piece exhibits bold intricate design features of high artistic value. The surfaces exhibit a somewhat canvas like texture imitating that of a fine painting. Rich slate patina highlights the devices offering a slight two tone appearance. A pleasing piece that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters. The stylization of Jesus navigating the storm represents the divine power over chaos, overcoming fears, testing humanities faith and the promise that Christ is present during life's hardships.
