PHILIPPINES. Japanese Occupation. Establishment of the Executive Council Bronze Medal, 1943. PCGS MS-63 Brown. Honeycutt-322; Basso-166. Mintage: 1,500. Obverse: Busts of Laurel and Vargas facing one another, legend above and below "*REPUBLIKA/ NG PILIPINAS* SANGUNIANG TAGAPAGPAGANAP"; Reverse: Katipunan symbol, with inscription on all three sides "KALAYAAN/ KAPAYAPAAN/ KATARUNGAN". Nicely preserved and wholly original looking, this pleasing example displays rich brown patina with relatively smooth surfaces. Offering a pleasing appearance with boldly struck devices. The symbol of the Katipunan features iconography that represents the three major land masses as stars, they are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
