Peter Layton (b. 1937) is one of the most important figures in British studio glassmaking. He played a central role in establishing the medium in Britain when he began the London Glassblowing Workshop in 1976, now based in Bermondsey Street, near London’s Southbank. Still blowing glass today at age 89, Peter has always taken inspiration from his environment, natural or manmade, granting his creations with a very distinctive look.
