A very beautiful and characterful Art Deco mantel clock from the early 20th century (interwar period), most likely of German manufacture (such as Kienzle or Mauthe). The clock case has the characteristic curved form of the Art Deco period and is on both sides adorned with refined, symmetrically carved woodwork with stylized floral motifs. The veneer on the front shows a beautiful, vibrant wood grain. The brass dial is in nice condition and features elegant, raised Arabic numerals in relief and stylized hands. The domed glass door is encased in a brass rim and closes neatly. The mechanical movement features two winding holes on the front for the clock’s operation and the gong striking mechanism.
