All auctions / Contemporary Art / Pedro Rey (1977) - Blue 3D effect
Blue 3D Effect, 2026. 2/15 "Impressive wall sculpture in a contemporary minimalist style. Through an exceptional command of perspective and color, this flat metal sheet work challenges the viewer's perception, creating a striking three-dimensional effect. The piece plays with visual folds and deep shadows in purple and black tones, simulating a volumetric structure that seems to float and emerge from the wall. It is a work that combines the rigidity of metal with the lightness of an optical illusion. Perfect for modern interiors seeking a cutting-edge design piece and a focal point of conversation." 62 x 58 x 3cm. Not shipped to the USA. Nor to the Islands. Created by the Spanish sculptor Pedro Rey (1977); his artistic career began autodidactically in 1998, after passing through several learning workshops such as painting, photography, and sculpture. He decided to focus his work on the latter, gaining prominence for sculpture in recent years within his work. Competitions in which he has been selected: -2020. International Askatasunarte Competition, -2021. XXV Pere Jou Sculpture Contest. -2023. 17th City of Badajoz Sculpture Award. -2024. Preselected 59 Reina Sofia Award. -2026. Preselected 61 Reina Sofia Award. The Geometry of Space. His work is characterized by a sensitivity that links Art and Architecture through the construction of volumes, which define voids and hidden spaces, transporting the spectator to participate in them through imagination. Suggestive, mystical spaces, cloaked by active and ethereal shadows that are generated within them. Multiple inner landscapes that activate being and thought. Each generated landscape frames us in a refuge-cavern where there are various entrances to places that evoke mystical architectural spaces in a constant state of flux."
