DOCUMENTATION Certificate of authenticity from Galerie d'Arte Piero Della Francesca. DESCRIPTIOn OF THE WORK We are offering at auction a mid-large format high-quality paper work by Paul Kostabi. The piece comes directly from the artist's studio. It is a rare "one of a kind" version, mixed media (markers, acrylics, enamels, collage) realized on a print proof of a silkscreen. These proofs, kept by the artist, were then retouched by hand (retouché) and are by all intents and purposes unique pieces. The artist, being one of our reference galleries, agreed to entrust us with a few for sale. These are very rare works for connoisseurs. Our gallery prides itself on being one of Paul Kostabi's reference points in Italy: we handle a wide selection of his creations, ranging from monumental formats (over 2 meters) to medium and small, including works on canvas as well as works on paper and historical pieces from the 1990s and 2000s. The absolute guarantee of this painting is certified by the authentic photograph issued and signed directly by the master. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES AND CRITICISM ABOUT THE ARTIST The artist is unanimously considered the last great representative of New York Graffiti from the 1980s: in his career he has exhibited in the same galleries as masterful artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, also collaborating with Little Angel Ortiz (LA2), Haring's longtime assistant. His works are now housed in prestigious institution collections, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and in numerous other museums worldwide. In addition to painting, Paul Kostabi boasts a monumental history in the music scene: he founded the band White Zombie, played with Marky Ramone, and is the ingenious creator of the title "Use Your Illusion" for the famous Guns N' Roses album (whose cover was illustrated by his brother, Mark Kostabi). SHIPPING AND PACKAGING Packaging: We guarantee professional, rigid, reinforced custom packaging designed to preserve the complete integrity of the work during transit, protected from shocks, creases and humidity. Courier: Tracked, fast and secure shipping via express courier. Shipping notes: The shipping costs, which may seem slightly above average, reflect the special care we take in making the packaging and selecting reliable couriers. The lead times shown on the platform are estimates. We generally ship within the indicated terms, sometimes even earlier. However, during peak periods or in case of issues (for example, strikes), shipments may be delayed by a few days. In such cases, we usually keep the buyer constantly informed about the order status and have the package ready to ship on the first business day. If the order falls on a Friday, we postpone shipping to Monday to avoid risky storage in depots over the weekend. Customs and Export (Non-EU): For buyers outside the European Union, shipping may require the technical time needed to obtain the Export License from MiC (Ministry of Culture). Any duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Invoicing: Professional seller. The work will be accompanied by a tax receipt (or electronic invoice, available upon request by sending your details at the time ofLot award). Framing and glass: The frame, if present, is included in the sale but should be considered a courtesy, so no claims about its condition will be accepted. Conditions are always exhaustively stated in the description. If there is glass, it will be included in the sale only if the lot is collected in person from our gallery. If shipping, the glass is always removed and is never considered included in the sale.
