A beautiful and highly collectible pair of vintage Patrick Mavros silver wine drip rings, acquired directly at the Patrick Mavros Studio in Harare, Zimbabwe around 2000-2001. What makes this pair particularly special is their wonderfully sculptural design. Rather than depicting a single animal, each ring features a continuous frieze of multiple African animals gathered together around the entire silver band. One ring depicts a family of hippopotamuses, while the other features a group of warthogs. The individual animals are intricately worked and full of character, creating a beautiful sense of movement and storytelling. Both wine drip rings retain their original velvet inner lining, an elegant detail that adds to their authenticity and vintage appeal. Details Maker: Patrick Mavros Material: Silver Design: African animal family / sculptural frieze Animals: Hippopotamuses & warthogs Place of acquisition: Patrick Mavros Studio, Harare, Zimbabwe Original velvet inner lining Diameter 4.5cm The rings are offered in their original vintage condition, with natural signs of age and use. The silver has developed a beautiful patina which enhances the character and intricate sculptural details of the pieces. A rare opportunity to acquire an early pair of Patrick Mavros of wine drip rings with direct Zimbabwe provenance. Inspired by Zimbabwe's extraordinary wildlife, each piece from Patrick Mavros is hand-crafted with sterling silver. Original Patrick Mavros box included.
