Partial Sheet of (4) Garland, Texas. $5-$5-$5-$5 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1800-2.

Partial Sheet of (4) Garland, Texas. $5-$5-$5-$5 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1800-2. State NB. Charter #7989. PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40. Something of a survivor by virtue of the format. Bidders have here for their consideration an unusual entry among the 67 non-institutional notes recorded in the National Bank Note Census for the State National Bank of Garland (Charter# 7987) which lingered until the late 1980s. Representative of a partial sheet that somehow went unissued, the astute collector will notice the serial numbers of the constituent notes read "A008563," "A008564," "A008565," and "A008566" which when held against issuing data betray this sheet as one of the last issued by this bank before National Bank Notes became obsolete in 1935. This held together with the noted popularity of T1 and T2 Nationals from Texas, bidders have here for their consideration not only an unusual item, but also a rare opportunity for a bank that some may consider "common." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.

Estimate:$600
