made of silver, circular in shape. The rim is decorated with fillets. Hallmarks: Premier coq 1st standard, Paris, 1798–1809, and goldsmith’s mark: Jean-Pierre CHARPENAT (registered in 1801, previously admitted as a master goldsmith in 1782). The wings are engraved with the combined coat of arms of Charles Boullet, known as Boullet de Varennes, and his wife, née Virginie de Bray (married in 1817), beneath a count’s crown. Height: 2.8 cm – Diameter: 29.5 cm Total weight: 1,600 g (shows normal signs of wear and scratches; sold as is).
