Pair of French Louis XV style chairs dating from the 19th century, crafted in carved and giltwood with shaped upholstered backs and serpentine seats. The frames are richly ornamented with foliate and rocaille carving, highlighted by a beaded border and a pierced floral crest, reflecting the graceful curves and exuberant decoration characteristic of the Louis XV style. Raised on cabriole legs terminating in carved feet, the chairs retain their richly patterned upholstery, complementing the warm gilt finish.
