Descriptio Pair of colored equestrian prints on paper from the series Le Nouveau Manège, published in Augsburg in 1734. They depict two exercises and poses of academic horsemanship with a rider dressed in 18th-century fashion and horse against architectural backgrounds. Both feature titles and captions in French, German, and Latin in the lower margin. One is Le pas aux murailles par la Droite, engraved by Johann Gottfried Seuter after a composition by Johann Elias Ridinger; the other, La vraye Assiette du Cavalier, shows the correct riding position. Dimensions of each print: 50 × 36 cm; dimensions with frame: 73 × 53 cm. Framed.
