Pair of carved wall sconces with tulip-shaped shades, Spanish School

Descriptio Carved and polychromed wood with glass shades. Dimensions per unit: 93 x 59 x 49 cm. A striking pair of vertical wall sconces decorated with exuberant plant motifs, scrolls, and naturalistic elements carved in high relief. The metal arms support three flame-shaped shades that intensify the theatrical and dramatic effect of the piece. The carving features a complex succession of intertwined leaves, fruits, and organic forms, creating a powerful visual dynamism accentuated by the chiaroscuro of the volumes. The combination of carved wood and electrified lighting reflects the decorative adaptation of Baroque and Rococo models to 20th-century historicist interiors. The ornamental richness and monumentality of the pieces evoke palatial settings and theatrical decorations of great visual impact. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
