Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) - "La Ronde de la Jenesse

Condition; the work is in excellent condition. Size: 60 x 80 cm. Pablo Picasso (born 25 October 1881 in Malaga, Spain – died 8 April 1973 in Mougins, France) was a Spanish expatriate painter, sculptor, printer, ceramist, and stage designer. He was one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century and the co-creator (with Georges Braque) of Cubism. Picasso's work remains an ode to the vitality of the restless Spaniard with the somber, piercing eyes, who believed superstitiously that his work would keep him alive. During almost 80 of his 91 years, Picasso devoted himself to an artistic production that significantly contributed to and ran parallel with the full development of modern art in the 20th century. The most valued paintings by Picasso come from different phases of his life: the early Pink and Blue Periods and his groundbreaking experiments with Cubism, to his work in the years preceding and during World War II, up to the late 1960s when he was already world-famous. Central to Picasso's oeuvre are portraits of his diverse muses: Marie-Thérèse Walter, Dora Maar, Françoise Gilot, and Jacqueline Roque, each of whom had a series of intricate affairs with the artist. These portraits, ranging from sensuous to tormented, are among the most recognizable in art history. An important work by Picasso is "La Ronde de la Jeunesse" (1961), translated as "The Round of Youth". This piece is characterized by a lively, circular composition of dancing figures that celebrate life and vitality. The energetic brushstrokes and bright colors illustrate Picasso's later style, which often embraced a playful and expressive approach. 'La Ronde de la Jeunesse' captures the joy and movement of youth, and demonstrates Picasso's ability to convey dynamic scenes with bold and simplified forms. This work bears witness to his ongoing innovation and exploration of new artistic expressions throughout his career.
