Canadian. A Mi’kmaq oval box, quill-decorated in strong colour with a bold motif of two red triangles separated by nine black "ribs" on the top, all on a white ground. The sides have quill chevron motifs in red, white, and blue. Constructed in birchbark with a pine bottom and spruce root on the lid rim with bound sweetgrass edges. Mid 19th century.
