ow available at auction from Second Vintage This classic vintage Seamaster presents a compelling configuration from 1964, characterized by a striking, uniform stardust-style patina across its dial. Driven by the respected Caliber 562 automatic movement, the watch pairs honest, age-related character with highly capable mechanical performance, offering a distinctive and highly wearable example of mid-century design. Brand: Omega Model: Seamaster Reference Number: 166.009 Serial Number: 21253623 Movement: Omega Caliber 562, automatic, 24 jewels Dial: Silver sunburst with heavy, uniform spotting and patina Case Size: 34 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-tone, stainless steel caseback Production Year: 1964 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +7+9s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The silver sunburst dial is heavily patinated, displaying heavy, uniform spotting across the entire surface that creates a distinct and appealing visual character. Applied gold-tone indices with black inserts provide clear legibility against the aged background, while a neatly framed date window sits at the 3 o'clock position. The gold-tone dauphine hands show visible oxidation and spotting, aging consistently with the dial surface. Case and Crystal The gold-tone case is fitted with a stainless steel caseback and an integrated, smooth gold-tone bezel. The case exhibits honest wear, with moderate scratches and wear visible on the lugs and case flanks, though the overall edges remain generally defined. The bezel shows light scratches and minor wear consistent with the rest of the watch. A gold-tone knurled crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo, operates at the side. The domed acrylic crystal remains generally clear with no major cracks, displaying only light surface scratches from regular use. Movement Inside beats the Omega Caliber 562 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels and traditional copper-colored finishing. The movement presents a clean appearance with no obvious corrosion, and the rotor remains present and intact. Clear engravings across the plates read "OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS", "TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS", "562", and the serial number "21253623". The timegrapher recorded +7+9s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring a crocodile pattern. The strap shows light wear and pairs nicely with the gold-tone case aesthetics. Condition Good vintage condition. The heavily patinated dial and oxidized hands present a uniform, aged character. The case and bezel show honest wear, including moderate scratches along the lugs and flanks, while the acrylic crystal displays light surface scratches. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result of +7+9s/day, the clean automatic movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 34 mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Seamaster stands out through its highly uniform dial patina and reliable mechanical performance. The combination of the robust Caliber 562 automatic movement and the classic 1960s configuration makes this a compelling choice for collectors who appreciate genuine vintage character backed by strong timekeeping.
