Omega Genève Dynamic Automatic Lady – ca. 1969/1970 – Two-Tone Dial – original Omega 5898/147 bracelet Special and characterful vintage Omega Genève Dynamic automatic ladies’ watch, dating from circa 1969–1970. A fine example of Omega’s forward-looking design from the Space Age era, with the recognizable ergonomic case shape and striking graphic two-tone sector/bullseye dial. The Genève Dynamic series belongs to the most recognizable Omega designs from the late sixties. The flowing case shape, integrated bracelet construction and graphic dial give the watch a distinctive Mid-Century Modern appearance. This piece features a particularly beautiful two-tone champagne-gold/taupe-bronze dial. Depending on the light incidence, the contrasting sector takes on a slightly different bronze-to-gray-brown tint. The dial is equipped with a central second hand and a date window at 3 o’clock. The watch has an automatic mechanical movement. The characteristic case measures about 29.6 mm and has the compact size typical for the Genève Dynamic ladies’ version. Particularly notable about this example is the matching Omega bracelet with original Omega folding clasp. The inside is clearly marked: GOLD PLATED L 20 MICRONS AND STAINLESS STEEL No. 12 5898/147 The marking indicates that the bracelet/clasp is made with a 20 micron gold layer in combination with stainless steel. The gold-colored finish complements the warm tones of the case and dial very nicely. The crown is also bearing the Omega logo. The back of the monocoque case is marked: TOOL 102 – WATERPROOF In addition, the number 31744 is hand-engraved. This is presumably a historic service or watchmaker number and is not considered an Omega reference number. The designation Tool 102 relates to the specific tool with which this particular case construction can be opened.
