Powered by the ultra-thin automatic Caliber 711, it offers a highly refined wearing experience. Brand: Omega Model: De Ville Reference Number: 165008 Serial Number: 26503973 Movement: Automatic, Omega Caliber 711, 24 jewels Dial: Silver linen textured finish with applied black indices Case Size: 34 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1968 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: -17-20s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The beautifully preserved silver dial features a distinct linen textured finish that interacts wonderfully with the light. Applied black stick indices provide strong contrast against the intricate surface, while the printed text remains crisp and precise. The dial is notably clean, presenting no visible staining or significant patina. Corresponding black stick hands complete the layout, showing a clean finish with no visible oxidation or damage. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case features classic straight lugs that define its mid-century dress watch profile. The surfaces display light scratches consistent with normal wear, alongside some minor wear and pitting visible on the caseback edge. A smooth integrated steel bezel frames the dial, showing light surface scratches matching the overall honest vintage condition of the case. The well-defined crown is signed with the Omega logo. A clear, domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, free from significant scratches, crazing, or cracks. Movement Inside beats the Omega Caliber 711 automatic movement, distinguished by its copper-colored plating and rotor. The caliber features 24 jewels and is adjusted to two positions. The movement presents a generally clean appearance, with some minor surface marks visible on the rotor and plates. The timegrapher records a rate of -17-20s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a high quality black leather strap featuring an alligator grain pattern. It is secured by a steel pin buckle signed by Omega. The strap appears lightly used with minimal creasing. Condition Excellent vintage condition. Supported by the strong timegrapher results, the movement is performing very strongly. The silver linen dial is exceptionally clean and well preserved. The stainless steel case retains its straight lug geometry, exhibiting light surface scratches from normal use and minor wear on the caseback edge. The acrylic crystal is clear, and the signed strap hardware adds to the cohesive presentation. Dimensions The case measures 34 mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This De Ville is a highly attractive proposition due to its striking silver linen textured dial and excellent state of preservation. The presence of the ultra-thin Caliber 711 automatic movement, paired with a signed Omega crown and buckle, makes this a thoroughly compelling dress watch. History The De Ville line was introduced in the 1960s to provide a dressier, more sophisticated alternative to Omega's standard Seamaster models. By 1968, the year this example was produced, the De Ville had firmly established itself as a premier choice for those seeking refined aesthetics and slim mechanical calibers.
