The white painted stick hands contrast exceptionally well against the dark dial. The paint appears intact, displaying only very minor signs of age near the center pinion. Case and Crystal The rectangular case maintains well-preserved, sharp geometry with distinct faceted edges that complement the crystal design. The white gold plated surfaces show light, honest wear with minor superficial scratches, while the edges remain well-defined. The inside of the caseback indicates white gold plating of 20 microns, paired with a stainless steel back. The knurled crown is signed with the Omega logo and exhibits light wear consistent with the case. A distinctive raised and faceted crystal protects the dial, appearing clear with only very minor superficial marks or dust. Movement Powering the watch is the manual winding Omega caliber 620, featuring a copper-colored finish. The movement appears clean with no obvious signs of corrosion or heavy oxidation, and the screw heads and plates look well-preserved. Engravings note that the caliber features 17 jewels and is adjusted to two positions. The timegrapher records a rate of +30+32s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. Strap The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring an alligator or crocodile pattern. The strap shows moderate wear and creasing, remaining a serviceable option. It is completed by a silver-tone buckle signed with an applied Omega logo. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The case retains sharp faceted edges with only light, superficial scratches on the white gold plating. The textured dial is beautifully preserved, and the faceted crystal remains clear with minimal marks. The movement is running strong and steady, supported by the recorded timegrapher results. Dimensions The case measures 24 mm, excluding the crown. Remarks This Omega De Ville stands out through its compelling combination of a raised faceted crystal and a dark striped dial. Powered by the reliable caliber 620 and retaining its sharp case geometry, it is a highly attractive dress watch from the 1970s. History The Omega De Ville line has long represented the brand's commitment to elegant, refined dress watches. During the 1970s, Omega experimented with distinctive shapes and textures, resulting in visually striking models like this rectangular example. At its heart beats the Caliber 620, an extra-flat, manually wound movement. This reliable 17-jewel caliber utilizes a straight-line lever escapement and a monometallic balance, adjusted to two positions, reflecting Omega's dedication to quality and precision in their slimmer dress profiles.
