Please consult the original photographs to verify the actual condition of the work.” This oil on canvas presents a figurative portrait with pronounced expressive strength and cultural identity, focusing on the smiling face of a woman with dark skin, whose hair is styled in buns and traditional braids. The artist achieves notable anatomical solidity and warmth in the skin tones through well-structured brushstrokes, highlighting the contrast between the yellow clothing and collar and the vibrant backgrounds. In the back, the composition abstractly and iconically integrates the colors and shapes of the Cuban flag — its blue and white stripes and the upper red triangle — framing the subject's head. The work conveys a deep sense of joy, dignity, patriotism, and pride in Afro-Cuban heritage.
