NOVA! - Distant landscapes

Award-winning diptych of two salvaged sails professionally sawn together into one large scale piece (see close detail images) ABOUT THE PAINTING: This work evokes blooming and movement in nature, emerging, dissolving, reforming, echoing my ongoing interest in botany, biology and the emotional architecture of nature. This piece is part of a broader exploration of nature as something in perpetual motion, very much fluid, porous, intuitive. It inhabits that space between becoming and unbecoming, where movement is constant, and destruction is inseparable from creation. Made of salvaged sails made in Sicily, sawn together by a boat tapestry master, this piece can be hang as a tapestry piece (see image hanging in an exhibition in Berlin on a brick wall) or stretched and framed. Timber profile for hanging in tapestry fashion can be provided. . Original, one-of-a-kind abstract painting Size: two panels forming one piece of 180x140cm Medium: acrylics and pastels on a salvaged sail Ready to hang: no, ships rolled Signature: verso, also signed Certificate in PDF format Year: 2025 Finish: silky varnish with UV protection Shipping: in a professionally packaged tube Please note that the work is painted to the edges so expect a loss of size of at least 3cm on each side depending on the depth of the stretcher bar.
