ORWAY. Gold Off-Metal Strike 24 Skilling, 1745. Kongsberg Mint. Christian VI. NGC AU Details--Edge Filing. Fr-unlisted; KM-232.3 (silver); Hede-4C (silver); Sieg-4.3 (silver); Delzanno-18c (gold); NMD-16 (silver); Schou-2a (gold); Bruun-10703. Weight: 8.07 gms. Mintmaster: Truls Andersen Lyng (TL). Engraver: Erasmus Simon Kongsberg (?). The lower reverse edge rim has been filed to test the gold. Strong and lustrous strike. Although it is difficult to distinguish any details from an earlier strike, the weight indicates that this excessively rare (unique?) and interesting piece could have been struck on a French Louis d'or.
