The wings are hand-carved and polished from a single piece of sodalite. The deep royal blue flows into white veining and a softly translucent, honey-toned section at the bottom. Because each wing is carved from natural stone, the pattern is not the same in any two pieces. The engraved veins give the wings depth and let the light play beautifully. The metal body completes the butterfly and provides an elegant accent.
