Art Deco silver necklace with black onyx and marcasites – Germany, 1930s–1940s Vintage Art Deco necklace of German manufacture, made in silver with oxidation for contrast. The pendant features an elaborate pierced design with scroll motifs, ornamental curls and decorations embellished with marcasites of pyrite. In the center there are geometric inserts in natural black onyx, framed by finely worked silver elements. The necklace is completed by a multi-strand chain of interwoven links, interspersed with small decorative elements. The contrast between the black onyx, marcasites and the darkened silver recalls European Art Deco jewelry of the 1930s and 1940s.
