Augis Love Medal « + qu’hier – que demain » – Gold and stones Elegant love medal signed Augis, in yellow gold, reproducing the famous motif « + qu’hier – que demain », emblematic of the Lyon-based house Alphonse Augis. The front features a radiating motif surrounded by a finely chased border. At the center, the inscription « + QU’HIER – QUE DEMAIN » is represented by a cross set with a small white stone and a “minus” sign made of two red rectangular stones. The model draws inspiration from the famous verse by Rosemonde Gérard, written in 1889: « Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t’aime davantage, aujourd’hui plus qu’hier et bien moins que demain ». The medal bears the signature A.A., corresponding to Alphonse Augis. The reverse is smooth and unengraved. Era: first half of the 20th century, probably around 1930–1950. Beautiful old piece showing scratches and signs of wear on the reverse, testament to a jewel that has been worn. A sentimental French medal that has become a timeless classic of Augis jewelry.
