Rare handmade and beautifully embellished 19th-century Dutch silver Loddereindoos.Box is particularly beautiful octagonal in shape and highly detailed, handmade by hand.Both the lid and the sides are manually provided with a detailed decor of floral decorations and refined engravings surrounded by pearl borders (see photos).The box is Dutch-verified and marked with Dutch silver hallmarks: - Fineness mark lion with 2 = silver fineness 833/1000 (2nd fineness) - Warranty office mark the Minerva head with the letter M = Schiedam?? (Schoonhoven) - Year letter F = 1865 - Master mark is unclear (see photos) Dimensions are 3.8 cm by 3.00 cm; height 4.00 cm and weight 24.8 g. The box is in exceptionally beautiful and pristine condition for its age of 161 years (only minimal, unobtrusive age-related signs of wear). This rare handcrafted 19th-century Dutch silver Loddereindoos, due to its splendid octagonal form, richly detailed work and refined engraved decoration, makes a striking and particularly decorative whole. The box has an extremely elegant look and is a jewel to behold. The lid closes well, so it is also nice to use. Shipped carefully packed and insured.
