A rare large and heavy handmade Dutch silver miniature in the shape of a girl (Amazon) on a horse. The piece is exceptionally beautiful in form and very detailed, handmade. It is hand-furnished with many attractive details such as: a rider in riding clothes, a cap on the head, feet with stirrups, reins of silver wire, a small whip in the hand, etc., etc. The miniature has been authenticated and among other things marked with Dutch silver hallmarks: The fineness mark is the little sword with 835 inside, which denotes silver content of 835/1000 (second fineness). Also bearing the master mark CB of the silversmith who made the horse = C. Bos. He worked as a silversmith in Amsterdam from 1929 to 1947. It is a large robust miniature; dimensions are 6.00 by 2.1 cm and a height of 5.6 cm. All together, with a weight of 46.6 grams for a miniature, it is also quite heavy (not hollow or weighted, so net silver weight).
