While drawing inspiration from the legendary No Age concept originally introduced in the 1980s by Silvano Samaroli and Pepi Mongiardino, this unique reissue in a vintage-style bottle (a reproduction of a 19th-century bottle) celebrates the history of Moon Import. Tasting Notes • Nose: Extremely complex and elegant. Notes of dried fruit (hazelnut, walnut), dried figs, beeswax, chestnut honey, baked apple emerge, and a slightly honeyed finish with hints of leather and fine wood. • Palate: Structured, creamy, and rounded. The sherry component lends nuances of raisins, cocoa, and sweet spices (cinnamon, cloves), balanced by a malty freshness and a subtle smoky, salty note. • Finish: Very long, warm, and persistent, with a pleasant aftertaste of spicy wood, candied fruit, and blond tobacco. Curiosities and News • The 19th-Century Technique (Slow Alcohol Reduction): No-Age is distinguished by its traditional and labor-intensive production process. Instead of diluting the whisky with water all at once before bottling (which causes alcohol shock), the water is added gradually over 12 months. Every 2-3 months, the batches are reassembled, allowing the water to slowly absorb into the distillate. • Rare Blend: The cuvée is a harmonious blend of malt whiskies from Scotland's last artisanal distilleries, aged from 12 to over 49 years in ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. • Limited Edition: Each batch is bottled in extremely small quantities without chill filtration or artificial coloring. As indicated on the bottle collar in the photo, this is bottle No. 0678 of only 1,428 produced. • Decanter Design: The dark glass, pot-bellied bottle is a faithful reproduction of an antique 19th century whisky container, housed in a solid wood box engraved with the Moon Import 40th Anniversary logo.
