Nino Tirinnanzi had Domenico Giuliotti as his teacher. He later enrolled in the Istituto d'Arte of Florence, which he left in 1936 after meeting Ottone Rosai, of whom he became a pupil and thanks to whom he was introduced into the artistic and cultural environment of Le Giubbe Rosse. There he had the opportunity to know and associate with Eugenio Montale, Mario Luzi, Elio Vittorini, Vasco Pratolini, Alessandro Parronchi, and Piero Bigongiari. As a painter, he first exhibited in 1947 at the art gallery Il Fiore. In 1951 he was invited to the Venice Biennale and subsequently to the Quadriennale di Roma. In 1953 he was awarded the Olivetti prize in the 5th edition of the Golfo della Spezia Painting Prize. In 1954 a solo show was held in Milan, introduced by an essay by Pier Carlo Santini. In 2006, on the occasion of 40 years of his career, he held a solo exhibition in the Sala d'Armi of Palazzo Vecchio. His painting style, influenced by Rosai, is characterized by delicate drawing, the tranquility of the compositions, and color flooded with poetic light. His works are exhibited in numerous public and private art collections in Italy and abroad.
