Dutch Republic – West Friesland – 3 Gulden 1763 – Enkhuizen West Frisian three-gulden coin dated 1763, struck at Enkhuizen. The obverse displays the crowned arms of the Dutch Republic: a lion holding a raised sword and a bundle of arrows, flanked by the denomination 3 Gᴸ. The surrounding legend names West Friesland through the abbreviation WESTF. The reverse depicts a standing female allegory holding a spear topped with a liberty cap, her other arm resting on a book placed on an ornamental pedestal. The motto HANC TVEMVR HAC NITIMVR surrounds the figure, with the date below. The design combines the Republic’s shared heraldry with a specifically West Frisian issuing legend.
