This set of five spearheads is notable for the variety of its defensive forms and its excellent state of preservation. The collection illustrates the evolution of piercing weapons, including leaf-shaped and lanceolate blades, designed to maximise penetration. All the pieces feature a reinforced central rib, crucial for preventing the bronze from bending on impact. The central point is notable for its extremely long and slender tang, suggesting it was used as a balanced projectile weapon. Provenance: Formerly in the Mr L.
