Its discovery alive occurred only in 1829, and it has been classified as a living fossil, often described as a masterpiece of engineering. The nautilus shell, already known and used in jewelry making since the seventeenth century thanks to trade with the East Indies, has become one of its distinguishing features. Nautilus height: 121 mm
