Native Silver - Imiter mine

Watch a video of this specimen by following the Vimeo link below: https://vimeo.com/1234151709/2f6c6b5f05 This large piece is excellent: thick, brightly burnished wire and crystallized native silver masses rise dramatically from a contrasting snow-white calcite matrix, their sculptural form almost figure-like — arms raised. The pure silver-white metallic color of the fresh silver against the bright calcite makes for an immediate, high-contrast composition. Rich and impressive for the size. Imiter is Africa’s premier silver mine and one of the world’s important sources of fine native silver specimens. Ex coll. Bassaler (Nancy). Ex. Bassaler (Nancy, France)
