aples, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 624. Morris County NB. Charter #7194. PCGS Banknote Choice Fine 15. A well-circulated note in technical terms, but alas a rare one in numismatic terms. This well-circulated $10 Plain Back issued during the 1920s is one note out a small population recorded here by the National Bank Note Census on the Morris County National Bank (Charter# 7194) which had organized in 1904. Here only 11 non-institutional notes are recorded and even more notable this note is one of only three recorded for the type and denomination. Those three notes are nonetheless rare items when held against the rest of their peers and the last confirmed auction appearance for a non-Copeland note dates back to 2016 making this a noted opportunity for the specialist. PCGS Banknote comments "Stain." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
