apa, California. $20 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1802-1. First NB. Charter #7176. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. From the idyllic expanses of California's Wine County sits the city of Napa which is best-known for its concentration of world-class wineries renowned throughout the world. Now at least in numismatic terms, Napa offers collectors a fine variety of National Bank Notes issued by the First National Bank (Charter# 7176) such as the impeccable Series of 1902 $5 Red Seal pedigreed to the Eric Agnew Collection that sold as part of our Spring 2025 Showcase Auction (Lot 21057) alongside a number of high-grade T1 $20 that somehow survived for the benefit of collectors. Here bidders are met with the opportunity to contest one of those improbable survivors which stands as a veritable paragon for a charter that should record a much smaller population in the National Bank Note Census. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.
