Scultura "Pufferfish" in Murano Artistic Glass – Submerged Technique with Hot Applications - Clear Crystal and Antique Rose/Amethyst – 1970s Refined and original vintage sculpture in the shape of a pufferfish, a delightful and substantial collector’s piece made entirely by hand in Murano artistic glass. The work is a magistral example of Venetian modernist aesthetics, able to fuse extraordinary artisanal mastery with a stylized, clean, and elegant naturalistic design. Main Features • Solid-Block Design and Material Significance: The standout and most valuable feature of this piece is its exceptional heft: the sculpture is formed from a solid block of glass weighing well over 2 kg. This "solid-block" fabrication not only provides absolute stability to the object but also highlights its high-quality craftsmanship and commanding stage presence. • Submerged Technique with Hot Applications: The sculpture was created using a sophisticated combination of techniques. The compact central body in amethyst/antique rose colored glass is enriched by elegant hot applications in pure colorless crystal glass. The spherical surface, perfectly smooth and glossy, enhances the brilliance of the crystal and the deep saturation of the internal color. • Artisanal Mastery and Material Contrasts: The precious anatomical details – the prominent rippled mouth, the sinuous dorsal fin, and the pronounced tail – were shaped hot with millimetric precision. The large, raised eyes were made with contrasting white and black glass paste applications. This deliberate contrast between the compact rounded pink body and the glossy, transparent geometries of the appendages gives the object a unique tactile quality and strong visual dynamism. • Setting: An iconic piece of Venetian modernism and Mid-Century design, dating from the 1970s. It is perfect for discerning glass art collectors or as a refined light centerpiece to embellish contemporary and vintage design interiors. Dimensions and Weight • Height: 14 cm • Width: 17 cm • Depth: 11 cm • Weight: Over 2 kg (massive and substantial sculpture) Condition The sculpture presents in excellent overall aesthetic condition. The glass is vivid, clear, and without alterations; no chips, cracks, restorations, or significant defects that would compromise its aesthetics or integrity are reported. Being a handmade vintage piece, it may show only very slight and physiologically expected traces of time consistent with its age. Shipping and Packaging Due to the delicacy and considerable weight of the work, a professional and extremely careful packaging is guaranteed, and shipping will be handled exclusively via international courier with complete online tracking to monitor every stage of delivery to the destination.
