MUGHAL STEEL DAGGER WITH GOLD-INLAID DECORATION

Ca. AD 1500 - 1700 A dagger with a double-edged steel blade tapering to a sharp point, with central fullers and gold-inlaid decoration at the forte. The iron hilt has a short crossguard, a waisted grip engraved with foliate ornament and a rounded pommel. Size: 390mm x 70mm; Weight: 345g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s.
